Message from the Chief
Fire Chief’s Message – 2026
As we begin 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past year and to thank the community we are proud to serve. In a small town like ours, the fire department is more than an emergency service—we are neighbors helping neighbors, and that sense of responsibility guides everything we do.
Over the past year, our members have responded to emergencies with professionalism, dedication, and heart. Whether answering calls in the middle of the night, supporting community events, or assisting neighboring departments, our firefighters have consistently stepped up when they were needed most. I am incredibly proud of their commitment and service.
While we may be a small department, our mission is significant. We continue to focus on training, safety, and preparedness to ensure we are ready for any situation. Fire prevention and public education remain a priority, because protecting our community often starts long before an emergency occurs.
Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue working to strengthen our department, support the well-being of our members, and maintain the high level of service our residents expect and deserve. We will also continue building strong partnerships within the community, because collaboration is key to keeping our town safe.
On behalf of the entire department, thank you for your trust, support, and encouragement. To our firefighters and their families—your dedication and sacrifice make a difference every day, and it does not go unnoticed.
It is an honor to serve this community, and we look forward to another year of working together to protect our town.
Respectfully,
Marty Creel

District Personnel
We rely on our crew of volunteer fire and EMS responders and the Fire Chief to provide the manpower to cover the needs of the community. In addition to emergency response, our volunteers help with fire and life safety education around the community and attend regular training to keep their skills and knowledge current. Along with basic fire and medical emergencies, services we provide include structural and wildland fire protection, rescue and extrication, hazardous materials response, and water rescue.
The department remains committed to the safety and health of all Redwood Valley and Calpella residents and visitors and responds accordingly.
